A first vape order is a small decision made of many small decisions, and the beginner error is treating it as one. This is the checklist — nine confirmations, in order, before you click buy.
Hardware decisions
1. Format sized to your calendar. A few times a week → small format like the Dash 4000. Daily → mid tier like Jollyice 12000. Constant → 50K class or pods. (Full framework: the two-path plan.)
2. Strength chosen deliberately. 5% is the class standard for heavier ex-smokers; lighter or nicotine-sensitive users belong at 2–3% — the Hammer 10K in 3% exists for you. If your first device ever made you dizzy, this line was the reason.
3. One familiar flavor, one experiment. Known-quantity profiles (fruit, light ice) teach you the hardware; the second unit is for curiosity. Never five of an unknown.
Seller decisions
4. Age verification present. A checkout that verifies age is a retailer investing in being around next year. Its absence says the same thing.
5. Contact and policy pages real. Find the contact page, the return policy, the shipping terms — before buying, not after something goes sideways.
6. Prices in the sane band. Impossibly cheap current-generation hardware is the counterfeit signature; our field checklist covers the rest.
The two everyone forgets
7. A charging plan. Anything rechargeable — which is everything 10K and up — needs a cable habit and a 5V/1A brick. Decide where it charges before it arrives.
8. A storage spot. Room temperature, out of sun, away from kids and pets, upright. Decided in advance, not discovered mid-week.
9. Consumption tracking. Note the day your first device finishes. That single data point converts every future spec sheet into a personal calendar — the highest-value sixty seconds in this entire hobby.
